Iris’ Story

“I love being near the forest and trails:  this is the place to be!”

From paddling local waterways with her daughters to relishing walks on surrounding trails, Iris positively glows when speaking about her outdoor activities. “There are so many great areas nearby to explore,” she explains. “I like to paddle with my family into Indian Arm whenever we can.”

Her always-on-the-go mentality extends to indoors as well. Iris belongs to a singing group called The Hummingbirds, attends the Symphony and ballet, uses the library/computer facilities and regularly visits the movie theatre. Since moving in to Cedar Springs PARC, her social life has ramped up considerably. “I am much more social than I was before,” Iris smiles. “I visit with friends often.”

Iris is not one to leave her mind idle either. Next on her list:  history and anthropology classes with Elder U at Capilano University.

That’s how it is at Cedar Springs PARC:  residents get involved. They stay active.  And pursue passions. They eat healthier and laugh more. And with PARC’s focus on maintaining a healthy body and mind through our Independent Living+ program, it’s easy to see how life’s just better here.
