Healthy living: a no-brainer at PARC Retirement Living

Grilled salmon. Dark chocolate. Mediterranean vegetables. Power smoothies. Even Sangria!  These were just a few of the delectables that attendees savoured at the 2nd Annual Health and Wellness Open House events hosted at all 4 PARC residences in May.

Over 230 guests came to sample the foods, enjoy free massages and listen to live music. There were hearing aid tests, the Wellness Nurse was on hand to give blood pressure tests, and there was PARC FIT equipment and demos at the ready.

An excellent and engaging presentation by ‘The Brain Guy’, Dr. Terry Small capativated guests in attendance with a plethora of interesting facts and education about how the brain operates and how by eating the right foods, one can maximize brain performance and retain memory, especially in the latter years.

Over the course of the 4 events, there were nearly 400 entries for our contest to win one of four PARC Retirement Living Health Baskets packed with goodies.

Tours of the buildings and show suites were in high demand too, whether self guided or guided. Guests had the opportunity to view the amenities, walk through the suites, interact with residents and really get a taste of daily life at PARC Retirement Living.

Guests seemed to delight in the experience, as comments included the likes of being ‘over the moon’ about the quality and superiority the residences have to offer. With an emphasis on health, wellness and active living, this event allowed PARC Retirement Living to really shine.
