Rainer Müller, Founder and Chairman

Rainer Müller, a graduate from the Architecture School of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, began investing in Vancouver real estate in the late 80′s.  Soon thereafter, Rainer developed his award-winning residences that integrate flawless design with functionality for residents and staff. Also an advocate for supporting the communities in which PARC residences exist, Rainer is a generous benefactor to arts and cultural initiatives through various community-based foundations and sponsorships. He also is an avid competitive sailor through the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, and manages other business endeavours in Switzerland.

Russell Hobbs, VP Development & Construction

Russell has been focused on building a better company for PARC Retirement Living since 2009. His role is twofold: overseeing construction and helping to operate the business as part of the executive leadership team. His education and employment has spanned from management and mining to business development. Since 2006, his career focus has been construction management, and his efforts with PARC are evident in the attractive, versatile and ‘green-friendly’ buildings.

Tony Baena, VP Strategic Growth

Tony has 11 plus years of executive level experience in multi-site private pay and funded seniors’ housing and care, responsible for all aspects of operations, sales and marketing, human resources, hospitality services and government relations. Tony was on the Board of the BC Care Providers Association and is currently on the BC Seniors Living Association Board where he was elected BCSLA’s Board President in November 2016.  Tony is looking forward to sharing his experience and knowledge with the PARC team to maintain our brand standards and customer focus as we grow our property portfolio.

Hilary Statton, VP Operations & Human Resources

Hilary is a certified Chartered Professional in Human Resources and a member of the BCHRMA (human resources management association).  She brings 15 plus years of experience in Human Resources involving education, recruitment, IT and accounting. Throughout her career, she has gravitated toward customer-centric organizations.  Hilary has always been passionate about maximizing the “people power” to gain results, and sees a distinct correlation between this passion and fostering a better quality of life for residents at PARC Retirement Living.

Jacqueline Omstead, Director Operations

Jacqueline’s career in senior living spans over 15 years, approaching 12 years with PARC. She has gained exposure to all areas of operations, most recently as General Manager at Westerleigh PARC. Jacqueline grew up with a very active sporting life as a gymnast and player for Basketball BC, arming her with strong team and leadership skills.  As Director Operations, Jacqueline is looking forward to working closely with the management teams to ensure our operations meet the highest standards in our industry.


Deborah Harsant, Director Sales

Deborah’s role is to communicate and establish business and client relationships with PARC’s unique boutique brand. Deborah collaborates with regional businesses, seniors’ groups, and organizations primarily in the Lower Mainland and secondarily throughout B.C. Her emphasis is currently focused in the White Rock, South Surrey area where she currently resides. Deborah’s background, education and expertise includes nursing, real estate, sales coaching, marketing and business growth and development. Focused on promoting the philosophy of wellness and active aging over the past few years, Deborah has helped established PARC as the premier choice for Independent Living. 

Connie Shum, Director Finance

With a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) designation and 8 years of progressive public practice accounting training, Connie brings a mix of qualifications and experience to her role as the Director of Finance at PARC.  Her experience helps her lead the finance department with everything from overseeing daily accounting operations to managing the financial risks of the company.


Anna Louie, Director Marketing

With experience working for a range of high-profile companies, including eBay, Eminence Organic Skincare, and Karran Finlay Marketing (KFM) Anna brings a wealth of marketing knowledge to the PARC Retirement Living team.  As Marketing Manager, Anna is instrumental in developing and implementing our marketing strategies and partner marketing initiatives.
